8.13.12 It is 106 degrees F and the first day of Fall semester is complete.

I just got home, walking through the thickest, sun heavy heat that the day has to offer. Thank goodness that trek is less than a mile. This semester should be ok seeing as how I only have Chem & Calc 1, but we shall see. The mood at CoS is the same as it ever was, some down trodden mix of grouchiness, over it ness, and reconciliation to the usual. Meh. But I did see Rob Hansen and was offered a donut, and all my old teachers that I have again seemed relatively pleased to see me. Both women this semester, one being a woman of color, and I can like that though both have already strapped us with a bit of homework. No rest for the non slackers.

Seeing all the kids in class reminds of what Matthew McConaughey’s character in Dazed and Confused says about himself and high school girls, “I get older and they stay the same age.” Though that prospect was pleasing to the bro pervert that he was in that movie it sucks for me as a 34 year old woman in the midst of all these barely legals. I use to eaves drop on their conversations until it became to painful to take in all the vapid stupidity. This semester I really am going to try to keep to myself and just get through these two classes.

Ultimately I am looking very much forward to my internship beginning and the heat to go away. Fall can’t come soon enough as far as i’m concerned.
